Just taking the time for me, and finding the FUN. I feel lighter and I can feel myself smiling more. This video was great, I have been thinking about meditation for awhile and it’s something I would like to try! Thanks!

  • Carrie

I really identify with this video with regards to my career. I’ve been in the same job for around 15 years and I fell into a comfort zone and it’s time for me to get out and see what else is out there for me. This challenge has given me the courage to move forward with discovering a passion I can pursue as my career. Regarding my spirituality I am learning that I need to take more time to just be with myself and truly reflect upon the person that I want to be.

  • Kellie

I have enjoyed all the videos and have taken something away from each them. The biggest change for me throughout this program is reconnecting my mind and body. I have had a disconnect for so long and have neglected my body, because I was ashamed. Learning to love my body and give thanks for all that it does for me has been the greatest gift that I have gotten from this challenge. Thank you Sarah for sharing your passions with us all.

  • Stacey

The best change i’ve made since starting the program is taking time for me. Each day I consider and plan for what I want to do and make the time to do it. Sometimes I find myself trying to stall or make excuses for not doing it but then I feel accountable to the group and myself and go for it. I am just starting a new career as a Life Insurance agent and am trying to get my first customer. It’s scay but exciting at the same time. So I have planned out dates/times to prospect and walk into businesses. Today I did 15 ! Thank you! Love this program!

I have been thinking deeply about my purpose when it comes to my career for the past 2 years since earning my doctorate in education. I have been a biology teacher for almost 20 years, and I love it, but what I am really passionate about is helping to support students with specific obstacles to their learning. I will continue to refine what my talent is within this area-and am excited to make something happen!

  • Stacey

I love your videos. I am just getting to the Friday one today but will get caught up. To show up more in my relationship I’m going to give (even without asking) my husband back massages. This is something we did for each other a lot when we were dating and he asks me daily and most of the time I say ‘No, it’s my turn for a massage, you haven’t given me one in a long time’ or ‘you didn’t take out the trash like I asked you’. I am also not going to get upset over stupid things like leaving a trail of wrappers or dirty clothes or not putting things away.
The action step I am going to take to build a better relationship with my body is to take my Ketone supplements regularly so I feel good every day (I already put lotion on daily and take good care of my skin). When I remember my supplements it makes a huge difference in my mood and energy for the day. I am also going to get up early to do yoga or meditate. These actions also help throughout the day.

My favourite video by far! Sarah, I felt as if you were speaking to me directly with the explanation of perfectionism and what happens to my motivation on an off-day. Career-same thing! Spirituality-a yes, too. There’s so much in this video for me that I’m going to hit replay, digest this information before I make a plan. Best thing since starting the program- understanding that the self-care I need isn’t selfishor frivolous -that I’ve been raised to believe it is, -but a powerful tool to a better life. Thank you!

  • Laura

I am a few days behind. RE: video 2 – I am going to text my husband little messages throughout the day and plan a dinner for us. For taking care of my body – I am going to start doing a nightly anti aging skincare routine

  • Lydia

Thank you for the video… this was inspiring. I feel like the best action step I can make to stop waiting on the weight is to go and buy myself some new jeans, instead of waiting until I can fit into my pre-pregnancy ones. 🙂 that feels great!

As for my side of the relationship, I feel like the more loving and kind I can be to myself, the better my relationship with my husband is. The more emotionally fed I am by me or by my girlfriends, the sweeter he is and the more thoughtful things he does. It’s when I start pulling on him and trying to “get” something from him that he withdraws. So, I’m going to love me more, to love him more! :))

I feel drawn to stretch and do yoga in the mornings, as a way to really consciously love and give attention to my body. Also I want to give myself permission to go to be when I am tired and leave things for the next day. As well as using some of my favorite lotion, with love, once it gets a little less humid!!

Thanks again for the inspiration and for sharing your journey.

The best change I have made so far is working on myself. I have been so stuck this past YEAR in not loving myself or treating myself well. I have found buying flowers, taking a bath, & learning how to treat my body very beneficial in keys steps to loving myself more. Which in turn fills me up to give more of myself to my hubby, son, & others. I am becoming a better version of myself! I love how my transformation is coming along! Thank you for sharing all of this info!

  • Liz

The one thing I’ve gotten from this challenge is that it i am valuable enough to make me a priority. It could be taking care of my body or improving the beauty in my surroundings.Thank you for the reminder.

  • Emma Newby

Best change is I am taking time for myself each day, following through with each daily challenge, making sure I am eating nutritious food, moving my body and taking care of myself.

  • Stephanie B.

I have been waiting on my weight to get this cute outfit that I wanted. I ordered it today in the size that I am in. That is a really big step for me. ?

As for my relationship..I have been married 21 years. I think I am going to try to not nag so much. If I want help I am going to use my feminine charms on him. Maybe be a little flirty and see if the sweet approach helps. I think I am too crabby. Maybe that is why he doesn’t want to help out more.

My action is doing to be doing yoga. I think this will help me feel stronger and calmer. More at one with myself.

  • Lisa W

I can identify with the career portion. That’s where I’m the most vulnerable to mindless snacking on sweets. There is an abundant amount of food around me at work and it’s hard to resist. I am reminded that I need to look at what else is going on for me in my satisfaction at work and if that sparks the eating. I have enjoyed the videos – they place focus on the right thing, not the “perfect” diet.

Spirituality wise, I believe in God and that my worth is in Him, not the number on the scale. Ok, well intellectually I believe that but need to apply it and let go of that number.

Day 8 – Career and Spirituality: let’s start with career. I am actually quite happy with my job. Recently I started to get bored in my current position and applied for a new one within the company. I have been awarded the new position and I am now in transition. I need to train someone to fill my current job and then I can move to my new one. It is a brand new position, so it is very exciting and I can’t wait to hit the ground running. In the meantime, I am doing my best to clean up and prepare an updated training manual for the new person that comes in. Tomorrow I am going to buy myself some flowers for my desk. As for my spirituality, that is a tough one. I used to practice yoga and meditate. I have gotten very far from that and really for no reason ?. So I am going to start doing yoga again and I am going to start meditating daily. I really enjoy meditating and their are so many wonderful apps now a days to help. Thanks Sarah Jenks, this challenge has been amazing and I absolutely love reading everyone’s posts everyday. Keep up the good work ladies ??

Another thought-provoking video…thanks so much for sharing! On the career front, I have actually been working in a profession for 15+ years that I really enjoy, even when I don’t always love the organization I’m working FOR. I took a new job @ 6 months ago and it has been a very positive change; the team is extremely supportive of each other, and I have made some great new friends through work. I also started a coaching program @ 18 months ago and am on the brink of being certified–this is the greatest area of career satisfaction for me, and I have been pondering how to make it more a part of my day-to-day work life. My life purpose is truly centered on helping people, and I would eventually like to weave my love of home design into my coaching practice (helping people create spaces that are a reflection of how they want to live in the world). I also find true fulfillment and purpose in helping with dog rescue…it’s a great feeling to connect humans with dogs who need safe, loving homes!

In terms of spirituality, I have the good fortune of a meditation program that is offered at my work, where we have weekly guided meditation sessions. I have also tapped more into the work of other spiritual leaders for guidance, and I like to read/listen to spirituality content several times a week. I would like to increase the frequency of my meditation practice; last summer I was meditating every morning and it was such a wonderful way to get centered, so that’s definitely an area of focus.

I don’t actually think that my emotional eating comes from job woes or spirituality, although Sarah’s latest video has given me something to ponder. I tend to eat because I’m mindlessly snacking, or because I’m home alone and feeling bored/lonely. This evening, I actually put on some classical music while I ate dinner, and ended up putting half of my soup away for tomorrow. PROGRESS! 🙂

  • Heather

I love seeing the impact of just taking 5 mins a day for myself can make. I have def been more relaxed.

  • Christine Nielsen

Another fantastic video. I like that they are not long but give such an impact. I work from home and do keep my office clean and organized as i find without that i am all over the place. I will however tomorrow hang my new picture i got. Just need to get a frame for it. I sp agree with the asking for help and using tarot for energies. I have 3 decks tgat i love each giving different uses. As for what i am good at. I do really like my job. I find as i work from home i miss the face to face interaction. I love helping people to understand certain issues to make their life easier.thank you again Sarah these challenges and videos are amazing. Simple enough but rruly do make you really see yourself

  • Linda

Just finished Day 8 video and I’m lucky to say I love what I do. I’m a writer and I really do have my dream job. But upon further though, there are other things I would like to explore – so I’m going to research and dive into directing. As for spirituality — ugh talk about a void. But I’ve just started ready The Red Book by Sera Beak and it’s getting me really excited. I love how our current day religions are based in ancient traditions from thousands of years ago. Also, the thought of tarot cards, and investigating Wicca excites me as well. I’m going to follow the excitement and see where it leads.

  • Dana

Thank you Sarah, for sharing your philosophies with us. I’m at a point in my career where things may be changing. in a good way. I was approached with an advancement opportunity back to my old department, in a director’s role. It’s a good move, a move that will make me happier all around, and it hinges on some new business coming in the door. so we’re at the hurry up and wait. SO I’m waiting, and itching to move and start working toward making that department what I wanted it to be while i was there. I’m breathing deeply, and trying to stay focused on the job currently at hand. Maybe a little spiritual guidance will push me in the right direction to get through the wait.

    HI Sarah
That’s for another great video! I’m really getting a lot from this! I’m a teacher in the UK and as much as I love the bones of my job; the kids, the laughter, the rewards, I sometimes feel so disheartened. Whatever we do is never enough we are criticised from all angles and the workload is just obscene! I volunteer as a coach for a charity called riding for the disabled (rda) and I LOVE it! If I could afford to leave my job I would dof it in a heartbeat. My passion in life is horses and to see these children with so many different needs benefit from being around these amazing animals is just so heartwarming. Unfortunately I need to pay the bills so for now I’ll be staying in the teaching profession. As for spirituality I’m drawn to the sea. I’m at peace there. I used to use crystals alot too but kind of fell out of the habit. You’ve inspired me to pick them up again. Thank you.

  • Sandy

I spend a little time each day on me because of this program.. I gave to think about myself in ways I ignore usually. It’s very positive. Spiritually I want to practice meditation but the tarot thing seems cool. I am lost when it comes to my career. I believe my talent is to help others thru listening and compassion .. It’s just so draining emotionally …I will clean up my office this week and maybe that will help me clear up other things…

  • Kelly

    Hi Sarah
Thanks for another great video. The biggest thing i have noticed since I joined this challenge is that i am learning to slow down more and take care of me without feeling guilty. Thanks ?

    • Christine Nielsen

Right. I notice that as well. I always tend to feel guilty when i do something for me and wont enjoy it as much.this is really helping me to get rid of the guilt. We deserve to do nice things for ourselves

  • Emme_willow

Today’s topics are the stickiest ones for me. Spirituality is hard for me because of my upbringing…for me, personally, religion/spirituality has come to mean shame, guilt, control and manipulation. And career goes right back to religion. I’m a stay at home mom because when I got married I was only told I was supposed to be someone’s wife and someone’s mother. College was out of the question. Now I’m no longer part of that church, but here I am almost 42 years old, no college education and wishing I could go back in time and have some do-overs. All part of why I’m here in this challenge.

    • Christine Nielsen

Maybe try meditating. Just a a fee deep breathes and clear your mind for say start with 10 minutes each day. As for college. Look up for what is offerred online. There is sometimes free classes offerred online. Would be a start.

  • Mariya

    Hello Sarah!
When I started the program actually I started to think more about me and all my needs.I am planinig to go for a holiday somewherefor first time in my life. I just need help, support I am open to receive all the things that will come.

  • Debbie

Hi Sarah , love the video about career and spirituality. I did change my job last year and I’m much happier now. Thou I hated it at first but I made it work for me. I drive a sandwich van but I made it more homely and I love all my customers it’s a great job. So I’m ok with that. I would like to get some tarot cards im into that. Might treat my self to some soon. My birthday next week so will buy some. Thanks I’m loving the live more weight less. Even if I don’t weigh much more it’s giving me more confidence in my self and enjoying life now as it is. Not waiting for it to happen which is so important. Thank you xx

  • Kelly M

The biggest change I have made in my life since joining the Live More Weigh Less Lifestyle…. there are so many small “things” I’m doing differently such as mindful eating, trying to move more, moisturizing my skin, saying “no” at times so that I can take better care of my needs. The single biggest thing would be the change in my thought process. My body is not wrong or bad. It is different and unique and individual just like my mind and my heart. It’s liberating to come to this conclusion. I live in my head, separate from my body. I’m trying to connect the two again and care for my body and love my body again.

  • Kelly Palmer

I’m loving the challenges and I’m now able to see I’m allowed to have fun! I’ve also changed the way I expect things from my hubby and be grateful for the way we work as a team without the point scoring of what each of us does for the family.

  • Valerie

Sarah, I am so grateful that I found this support group. The women are incredibly supportive, loving, gracious and helpful. You are an inspiration to all of us and it is easy to see your passion for what you do! I have been more conscious of how I treat myself and what I am doing to nurture me! I raised four children and gave 100% of me to them..my husband and family. I am no longer married and have had an opportunity to learn who I am and what I want and have to offer this world. I know that I am here for a specific purpose and I am still searching for that. I do have a strong desire to encourage others and to lift them up and support them..it feels natural, empowering and makes me feel like I am contributing something to life! I look forward to the remaining challenges and hope to participate as much as possible. I am currently attending college at almost 50 and seeking to get back into the medical field working in a remote capacity where I am able to travel with my significant other. I am looking forward to living more and being more loving to myself than ever before! Thank you for your time, talent and insight!

  • Jenna

when i first saw what this video was going to be about i was worried because i do not have a career nor have i ever had one. i am a stay at home mom. lately however i have been thinking about work and if i ever were going to have a career what i would want to do and i feel like this video gave me really good ideas of where to start.

i have been feeling so great since starting this challenge despite a major cold i’ve been battling. it’s really made me take a step back and look at my life and the reasons i am living the way that i am living and that really helps.

as far as spirituality, i am really feeling like i need to try meditation. it just seems like something i could really benefit from and it keeps popping up into my life so it just seems like a sign.

i can’t wait to continue on with this challenge!
